A DIY, Natural (and cute) Air Freshener
January 1, 2019
My husband has a picky nose. His strongest sense is his sense of smell. So he’s quick to judge a new candle, hand soap or detergent. I’m less picky, but definitely have my favorite scents. A few months back I did an Instagram story and post about my DIY, natural air freshener and I’m happy to say I love the scent so much I wanted to do a blog post about it. It’s been months and my linen closet bursts with lavender every time I open its door. So here it is! It’s the simplest DIY and I’d venture to say you have all these things in your house right now.
1 cup rice (white or brown)
15-20 drops of an essential oil of your choice (I used lavender)
Optional, dried herb like rosemary
5x5 square of cheese cloth
Add 1 cup of rice to a canning jar
Add 15-20 drops of essential oil to the rice in the canning jar
Coat the rice with the oil by swirling the rice in the jar (gently)
Optional: add a dried herb for additional scent (like rosemary, thyme, lavender)
Place cheese cloth over glass. Using only the rim (not lid plate), screw on the top.
